Hannah and I were planning to stay with Rippowam friends, Aggy & Charlie Duveen at their B & B.
Hopkins House Bed and Breakfast is adorable in Salem, New York right on Rte 22, not too far from Lake George I think...maybe an hour?
Here is their website...

(They give a discount to educators on rooms! I highly recommend it!)
Arrived about 8pm.
Aggy greeted us and gave us the tour. I stayed in the Rosenquist Room and Hannah stayed in the Emile or Tom Morrissey room.
We sat and drank tea and caught up.
When Charlie got home, he had us sort blueberries and bag them for feezing. Then he gave us the "Night Tour" of the outbuildings and I really had to restrain myself from freaking out; I spent my mental energy looking for critters in the dark!
donkeys and sheep were cute
bats hanging in the barn? not so much
visions of lake george, the twins and I in beds with sheets over our heads while bats swooped around and grandma grabbing the snake on the kitchen door all danced in my head...it did remind me a lot of Lake George, mostly the smells
learned about compost toilets (they have two!), although Hannah and I both used modern plumbing only :-)
We plotted our Monday trip and crashed at midnight
Up and out by 8am, off to Williams...
