Hobart & William Smith Colleges

10am information session
11am tour

KM impressions

Two colleges coordinated
Separate deans
Separate athletic depts.
Separate student governments
Student reps on board of Trustees with voting rights

No core requirements but must fulfill 8 goals with coursework
One required seminar with choices to reinforce reading, writing, critical thinking; very eclectic options for this; it seems they have really tried to make these courses to fit student interests

Standardized test optional
Single gender dorms and coed dorms
Must live on campus first year
After that, lots of choice: theme houses, town houses
Only seniors can live off campus

Lots of study abroad options

Some interesting scholarship options

the students talk about it being a very vibrant campus with lots going on on campus

real sense of community

D3 sports

Closest big city: Rochester

In my opnion this school sets the standard for the rest of the trip to see if we can find a program as good as this one in a more interesting location.

Geneva is not a bustling metroplis...as Hannah said, there will be not day trips to Boston or New York

However, after visiting Rochester, I can see that is a bustling metropolis! so that has clear possibilities...
